Meet Our Team
Corey Watson
Corey’s love of the outdoors came from growing up in Wasilla, Alaska, where there was hardly a time he wasn’t out hunting or fishing. Corey moved to Bend, Oregon as a junior; and upon graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Marine Corps [1988-1992]. He spent his first 2 years with a Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team (FAST) company – Marines who are uniquely trained to deploy quickly across the world to provide security and/or antiterrorism capabilities. During that time he was deployed to Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He then took orders to 1st Battalion 5th Marines (1/5) to serve as a machine gunner.
In 2008 - after almost 17 years out of the military - Corey decided he needed to do more, so he enlisted in the Washington Army National Guard. He immediately deployed to Iraq where he provided convoy security.
Corey married his wonderful wife Stacie in 1998. Together they have two awesome daughters, Victoria and Samantha, and are blessed with three grandsons - Tysen, Abraham and Koa. Corey and Stacie currently live in Cookeville, TN. Their walk with Jesus permeates everything they do.
Corey is a firm believer that getting out in God's beautiful creation helps facilitate healing. After his deployment in 2009, Corey had many struggles. “What saved me was getting back in the woods or on the water. I’ve been blessed with free time and feel it is my responsibility to help bring peace to others struggling as I did.” Corey helped secure quality elk, deer and antelope tags for veterans in the Pacific Northwest for several years. He is excited to see God’s continued work through Cross The Divide as he coordinates programming in Tennessee.
